Bonded SmCo Magnets

Bonded samarium cobalt magnet is composed of magnetic powder and plastic medium. Unlike traditional magnetic process, bonded SmCo magnets can be manufactured into various kinds of shapes, via mixing and heating in injection molding machine and then pouring into molds, instead of compressing molding in the presser and then sintering and processing.

Currently, plastic medium mainly includes P6, P12, and PPS. Customers can choose a plastic medium according to performance, cost, and using the environment. We will also recommend suitable material as per customer’s requirements so that products will have good price/ quality ration and using effect.

Not only do bond SmCo permanent magnets have different kinds of shapes and specifications, but they have powerful resistance to corrosion and rust and high-temperature stability. Therefore, commonly, bonded samarium cobalt magnets do not need coating.

Because bonded SmCO magnets are manufactured by mixing magnetic powder and binders, including epoxy resins or plastic, instead of sintering, bonded SmCo magnets are less fragile and brittle than common samarium cobalt permanent magnets. However, bonded magnets will have less powerful magnetic strength as well.
